MELBOURNE, FL – Brevard County Sheriff’s K-9 Junny is back on the job after spending some R&R and rehab at the Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital in Melbourne, under the care of Dr. Smith. Junny had to take a leave of absence after having an alergic reaction to an antibiotic causing him to get vertigo.

“A huge thank you to Dr. Thomas Smith and his team at  (ASEH) for taking such great care of Junny,” the department said.  “Dr. Smith and the team at ASEH worked closely with our own Veterinarians, Dr. Boyd and Dr. Jenkins to give Junny the absolute best care possible during a very stressful time for him and all of us at the Sheriff’s Office that were so worried about his condition.”

As a result of the allergic reaction and vertigo “Junny” spent several days at the hospital and was taken great care of by the staff who spoiled him rotten, but also gave him the best medical care you could ever imagine.

“Junny is thankfully healthy and back at work, so he recently stopped by to outfit the staff of Animal Specialty and Emergency Hospital with his “Junny the Mascot” shirts and to give them all a big slobbery kiss for taking care of him,” the department said.
