STAFFORD, VA — A 34-year-old Kohl’s employee was arrested after authorities say he was caught repeatedly stealing merchandise from the store where he worked.

Deputy K. R. Sprinkles responded to the Kohl’s located at 1220 Stafford Market Place around 10:50 a.m. Thursday after store management reported suspected thefts involving a staff member. According to the sheriff’s office, Jorge Morillo-Martinez had been seen taking items from the store on at least five separate occasions.

Following an investigation, Morillo-Martinez was arrested and charged with petit larceny and embezzlement. Officials say he was taken into custody and booked on a secured bond. The value of the stolen merchandise was not disclosed.

It is unclear how long Morillo-Martinez had been employed at the store or whether the alleged thefts involved resale or personal use. No additional suspects have been identified.
