Krispy Kreme Opening New Location in Ocean County

LAKEWOOD, N.J. — After nearly two decades, Krispy Kreme is set to make a comeback in Ocean County with a new store opening next week on Route 70 in Lakewood.

The 4,000-square-foot location is situated in the Town and Country shopping center, is in the former McDonald’s restaurant near the border of Lakewood and Brick. The plaza, anchored by a Home Depot, is located just south of Shorrock Street and the Costco shopping center, offering easy access for local residents along the heavily-trafficked Route 70 corridor.

The new Krispy Kreme store will be operated by a franchise group that also runs locations in Paramus, Springfield, East Rutherford, and Jersey City. The Lakewood location will offer indoor seating and a drive-through window, catering to customers looking for a quick stop or a place to enjoy their doughnuts.

“We are thrilled to bring this beloved doughnut shop back to the neighborhood after nearly 20 years,” said David Townes, managing director with JLL, the commercial real estate firm overseeing the shopping center. “Krispy Kreme is a dynamic addition to Town & Country Shopping Center’s retail experience, which accesses a significant population from its location right off of Route 70.”

The reopening is expected to draw both nostalgic fans and new customers eager to experience Krispy Kreme’s iconic hot, fresh doughnuts and coffee.
