Lakewood Home Struck by Gunfire, Suspected Vehicle Found Abandoned Nearby

LAKEWOOD, NJ—Lakewood Police Department is currently investigating a potential shooting incident reported last evening on Cedar Street. The initial call came in just before 9:15 p.m., with a resident reporting a “loud pop” and sighting a black pickup truck in the vicinity alongside a broken glass bottle on the road.

Responding officers conducted a thorough check of the area but initially found no further signs of disturbance. However, nearly an hour later, a second call from a different resident on the same street reported a suspected bullet hole in the doorframe of a second-floor bedroom.

Officer Conner Woods, acting on information gathered at the scene, located an unoccupied black Chevy Silverado a few blocks away, believed to be linked to the incident. The vehicle has been seized as part of the ongoing investigation.

The Lakewood Police Department is actively seeking information and encourages anyone with details to contact Detective Tyler Bennett at 732-363-0200 ext. 5405.
