Lancaster Police Shoot and Kill Armed Burglar Who Pointed Gun

LANCASTER, PA – Early Sunday, officers from the Lancaster Bureau of Police were dispatched to a residence on West New Street following a reported burglary.

The resident alerted officers that the alleged intruder was still inside the home. Upon exiting the house, the suspect confronted the officers and pointed a firearm at them.

In response, officers shot the suspect, who later succumbed to his injuries at a local hospital.

The Lancaster County District Attorney’s office is currently investigating the shooting.

Separately, the Lancaster County coroner’s office has confirmed the investigation of a juvenile male’s death connected to the West New Street police shooting. An autopsy regarding “firearm-related injuries” is pending.
