Landover man charged with fatally stabbing brother

LANDOVER, Md. — Prince George’s County Police have arrested and charged a Landover man with the fatal stabbing of his younger brother following a dispute on Monday evening.

Police identified the suspect as 28-year-old Brilyen Kelly. He is accused of killing his 23-year-old brother, Simi Kelly, in an incident that occurred on November 4 in the 8600 block of Reicher Street.

At approximately 6:00 p.m., officers responded to the scene and found Simi Kelly outside, suffering from stab wounds. He was transported to a hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly afterward.

According to investigators, the stabbing took place during an argument between the two brothers. Brilyen Kelly was taken into custody at the scene by Landover Division III patrol officers. He has been charged with first- and second-degree murder and is currently held at the Department of Corrections.

The investigation is ongoing as detectives work to determine the full circumstances surrounding the incident.
