July 17, 2024

Timonium, MD – Maryland State Police arrested Dwayne Purdie Jr., 31, of Baltimore, early Sunday morning after discovering suspected cocaine, hallucinogenic mushrooms, ecstasy, and heroin during a traffic stop in Baltimore County.

Purdie faces charges of felony drug distribution, two counts of possession with intent to distribute narcotics, possession with intent to distribute fentanyl/heroin, and possession of drug paraphernalia.

The incident occurred shortly before 3:30 a.m. on the inner loop of Interstate 695 near Green Spring Avenue. A Trooper from the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack conducted a traffic stop on a Honda Accord for suspected driving under the influence. During the stop, numerous criminal indicators prompted a K9 scan, which yielded a positive alert. A subsequent search of the vehicle revealed the illegal substances.

Purdie was transported to the Maryland State Police Golden Ring Barrack for processing and then to the Baltimore County Detention Center. He was seen by a District Court commissioner and subsequently released. The investigation is ongoing.
