Driver dies after late-night crash on Erdman Avenue in Baltimore

BALTIMORE, MD – A 57-year-old man died late Wednesday night following a single-vehicle crash on Erdman Avenue, prompting an investigation by the Baltimore Police Department’s Crash Team.

At approximately 10:52 p.m., Southeast District officers were called to the 5800 block of Erdman Avenue for a reported collision. When they arrived, they found a 1999 Ford van that had come to a stop in the eastbound lanes after crashing.

The driver, who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was removed from the van and taken to Johns Hopkins Bayview Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival.

Police have not released the driver’s identity pending notification of next of kin. Investigators from the department’s Crash Team have taken over the case and are continuing to examine the circumstances leading up to the fatal wreck.
