Lewes Man Arrested for Felony Drug Charges

Lewes, DE – Delaware State Police arrested Byard Widdoes, age 39, from Lewes, Delaware, on Thursday for felony drug charges.

Troopers responded on Thursday at approximately 7:21 a.m. to a report of an unconscious man at the Wawa located on 17663 Dartmouth Drive in Lewes. They found Widdoes slumped over the steering wheel of a maroon Nissan Rogue. Upon waking, Widdoes did not require medical care but was confused and repeatedly put his hands in his pockets despite instructions not to.

Widdoes was detained and searched, which led to the discovery of drugs and drug paraphernalia. A computer check revealed existing capias warrants for his arrest. During the search, troopers found various substances including powder cocaine, crystal methamphetamine, liquid methamphetamine, liquid testosterone, heroin, and several prescription pills.

Widdoes was taken to Troop 7, where he faced multiple charges, including possession with intent to distribute a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance without a prescription, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Justice of the Peace Court 2 arraigned him and is currently held at Sussex Correctional Facility.
