Life Sentence without Parole in Wallkill Murder-for-Hire Case

July 20, 2024

WALLKILL, NY – In a recent announcement, Orange County District Attorney David M. Hoovler reported that Enoch Lowe, 25, from Wallkill, has been sentenced to life imprisonment without the possibility of parole. This sentence comes after his conviction in a high-profile murder-for-hire case.

On Thursday, July 18, Lowe was convicted by an Orange County jury of all charges, including Murder in the First Degree, Tampering with Physical Evidence, and Conspiracy in the Second Degree. In addition to the life sentence, Lowe received a consecutive prison term of one and one third to four years for tampering with physical evidence.

The case stems from Lowe hiring Damante T. Stansberry, 24, from Middletown, to murder his neighbor due to a long-standing feud. The prosecution detailed how Lowe coordinated the attack, which occurred on October 30, 2022, acting as a lookout and communicating with Stansberry via text and phone calls during the crime. The victim, a 53-year-old man, was fatally stabbed while he was outside his home.

The investigation involved multiple law enforcement agencies, leading to Lowe’s arrest on October 10, 2023. Damante T. Stansberry has already pled guilty to Second Degree Murder and is awaiting sentencing.
