Linden police seek suspect in 000 jewelry store burglary

LINDEN, N.J. – Linden Police are asking for the public’s help identifying a man wanted in connection with an overnight jewelry store burglary that left a downtown business with thousands of dollars in losses.

According to police, the break-in occurred around 1:30 a.m. Monday at a jewelry store on North Wood Avenue. Investigators said the suspect shattered the front glass door before stealing roughly $6,000 in cash and jewelry, then fled the scene on a mountain bike.

The suspect is described as a Black man in his 40s with a beard. At the time of the crime, he was wearing a dark hoodie under a dark puffy jacket, black pants, black gloves, and black shoes.

Detectives are continuing to review surveillance footage and follow up on leads. Anyone with information that could help identify the suspect is urged to contact Detective Philippakos at 908-474-8530 or by email at nphilippakos@lpdnj.org.

Police said all tips will remain confidential as the investigation continues.
