CLINTON, Md. — A Prince George’s County woman is celebrating a $200,000 win after purchasing a Ravens X10 scratch-off ticket at a Temple Hills store, according to Maryland Lottery officials.
The lucky winner, a homemaker and occasional lottery player, had forgotten to buy scratch-offs while shopping with her son. On her way home, she stopped at the Temple Hills Kash King check-cashing store, where she noticed a jackpot sign and decided to buy tickets.
Her decision to try the $10 Ravens X10 scratch-off was influenced by a friend’s recent success. “A friend of mine won $500 and $75 playing it last week. She recommended that I try it,” she told officials.
Upon scratching the ticket inside the store, she realized she had won the top prize of $200,000. “My heart started beating so fast. It was overwhelming,” the mother of two said, recounting the moment.
After driving home to share the news with her husband, the initial disbelief eventually turned to excitement. The family plans to use the prize money to pay off their mortgage. “There were times that we thought it’d never happen,” she said.
This $200,000 win is the first top prize claimed in the Ravens X10 game. Several other large prizes, including four $25,000 prizes and eight $10,000 prizes, remain unclaimed.
