Lodi Man Arrested in Hit-and-Run Incident

Little Ferry, NJ – Miguel A. Delacruz Romero, 33, of Lodi, NJ, has been arrested on charges of leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury. The arrest follows an investigation by the Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office, led by Chief Matthew Finck, and the Little Ferry Police Department, under Chief James Walters.

On Sunday, the Little Ferry Police Department responded to a serious two-car accident on Route 46. The Bergen County Prosecutor’s Office Fatal Accident Investigation Unit also attended the scene. The investigation determined that a 2019 Dodge pickup truck, driven by Delacruz Romero, was traveling east on Route 46 when it struck the rear of a 2022 Toyota sedan. The collision resulted in serious injuries to two passengers in the Toyota.

Detectives traced the vehicle involved in the crash based on evidence found at the scene. On Monday, they located the Dodge pickup truck and identified Delacruz Romero as the driver.

On Monday, Delacruz Romero was arrested in Little Ferry. He faces charges of third-degree leaving the scene of an accident resulting in serious bodily injury, along with related motor vehicle offenses. He was transported to the Bergen County Jail in Hackensack, pending a detention hearing.
