MIDDLETOWN, NY – One lucky New York Lottery player is waking up more than $28,000 richer after purchasing a top-prize TAKE 5 ticket at a Middletown grocery store for the Wednesday evening drawing.

The winning ticket, worth $28,673.50, was sold at ShopRite/Wakefern located at 20 Lloyds Lane in Middletown, according to the New York Lottery. The ticket matched all five numbers drawn in the October 30 TAKE 5 Evening drawing.

TAKE 5 drawings are held twice daily at 2:30 p.m. and 10:30 p.m., with numbers drawn from a field of one through 39. Prizes can be claimed for up to one year from the date of the drawing.

This latest win adds to the steady stream of TAKE 5 payouts across the state, with thousands of players winning daily through the game’s multiple prize tiers. The Lottery did not disclose the identity of the winner.

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable in North America, contributing $3.6 billion in the last fiscal year to support public schools throughout the state.
