Giant Eagle in Allegheny Township earns bonus after selling life-changing Scratch-Off

ALLEGHENY TOWNSHIP, PA — A Pennsylvania Lottery player is holding a ticket worth $1.5 million after a winning Scratch-Off was sold at a Giant Eagle in Westmoreland County.

According to the Pennsylvania Lottery, the winning $1,500,000 Super Star Scratch-Off ticket was sold at Giant Eagle, 41 Towne Center Drive, in Allegheny Township.

The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the winning ticket.

The $1,500,000 Super Star is a $30 Scratch-Off game featuring top prizes of $1.5 million.

Lottery officials reminded players that Scratch-Off prizes expire one year from the game’s end-sale date. Winners are encouraged to sign the back of their ticket immediately and contact the Pennsylvania Lottery at 1-800-692-7481 to begin the claims process.

The Pennsylvania Lottery noted that Scratch-Off tickets are distributed randomly, meaning neither the Lottery nor retailers know where winning tickets will be sold until a prize is claimed.

Prizes exceeding $5,000 are subject to applicable tax withholding.
