$34K TAKE 5 lottery ticket sold at Newburgh smoke shop in evening draw

Newburgh, NY — A lucky lottery player scored a $34,821 payday in the Dec. 20 TAKE 5 Evening drawing after purchasing a top-prize ticket at a smoke shop along North Plank Road in Newburgh.

The winning ticket was sold at Smokes 4 Less, located at 59 North Plank Rd, according to the New York Lottery. The TAKE 5 game draws numbers twice daily, selecting five numbers from a field of 1 through 39.

The prize-winning ticket matched all five numbers drawn in the evening draw. Players have one year from the date of the drawing to claim their winnings.

This latest win adds to the growing list of TAKE 5 prizes won across the state, and reinforces Newburgh’s standing as a frequent hotspot for lucky tickets.

The New York Lottery remains the most profitable lottery in North America, with over $3.6 billion in contributions to New York State public schools during the current fiscal year.
