APALACHIN, N.Y. — One New York Lottery player is holding a Powerball ticket worth $50K after a third-prize-winning ticket from Wednesday night’s drawing was sold at a gas station in the Southern Tier.
The New York Lottery announced the winning ticket for the May 20 Powerball drawing was purchased at Speedway #09954, located at 7774 NY-434 in Apalachin.
Lottery officials said the ticket matched enough numbers during the drawing to secure a third-prize payout worth $50,000.
Powerball numbers are selected from a field of one through 69, while the red Power Ball is drawn separately from a field of one through 26. Drawings are televised every Monday, Wednesday, and Saturday at 10:59 p.m.

Winners of New York Lottery draw games have up to one year from the drawing date to claim their prize.
