Mailbox smashed and mystery van vanishes after hit-and-run in jackson township

A homeowner captured a photo of the suspect vehicle before it left the scene, and police are asking for the public’s help identifying it.

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, PA — Northern York County Regional Police are searching for the driver of a two-tone van that fled after crashing into a mailbox and fence at a home in Jackson Township.

The hit-and-run occurred at about 1:10 p.m. on Saturday, July 25, in the 400 block of North Biesecker Road.

According to police, the homeowner reported that the driver of a two-tone white and maroon van struck the property’s mailbox and fence before leaving the area without stopping.

The homeowner was able to capture a photograph of the van. Police said the vehicle has a distinctive circular window on the driver’s side.

Investigators are asking anyone who recognizes the van or has information about the crash to contact the Northern York County Regional Police Department at 717-467-8355 or email tips@nycrpd.org. The case number is 2026-031598.

The investigation remains ongoing.
