POUGHKEEPSIE, NY – A significant drug distribution network was dismantled in Poughkeepsie as the Dutchess County Drug Task Force executed multiple search warrants across the city and town on June 27, 2024. The operation led to the arrest of three individuals and the seizure of substantial quantities of cocaine and methamphetamine.
The investigation, spearheaded by the Dutchess County District Attorney’s Office Drug Task Force, involved undercover purchases of cocaine at various locations, including a restaurant at 96 Washington Street in the City of Poughkeepsie. This establishment was identified as a hub for the sale of cocaine and other dangerous substances.
In a coordinated effort, Drug Task Force agents, supported by several law enforcement partners, conducted simultaneous raids, resulting in the capture of drugs ready for sale, two vehicles, and a significant sum of U.S. currency.
The individuals arrested in connection with this network are Jesus Rios-Reyes, 52, Norma Suazo-Ortiz, 36, and Marco Antonio Martinez-Marino. They face charges including criminal possession of a narcotic drug (4 ounces or more), a Class A-II felony; criminal possession of a controlled substance 3rd degree with intent to sell, a Class B felony; and possession of methamphetamine weighing 1/8 ounce or more, also a Class B felony.
Following their arrest, all three suspects were arraigned in the City of Poughkeepsie Court and were remanded to the Dutchess County Justice and Transition Center without bail. This successful operation marks a significant blow to drug trafficking activities within Dutchess County.
