Major League Baseball Pulls All-Star Game from Atlanta Over New Georgia Election Law

Cancel culture has struck the citizens of the Greater Atlanta region after the city just lost the 2021 Major League Baseball All-Star Game. The city of Atlanta now stands to lose tens of millions of dollars of business as punishment for state legislators revamping the Peach State’s voting laws.

Not only have the residents of Georgia allegedly had their voting rights taken away, Major League baseball delivered an 0-2 fastball to strike out the residents of Atlanta by taking away their all-star game.

“Major League Baseball announced on Friday that it will relocate the 2021 All-Star Game and MLB Draft, originally scheduled to take place in Atlanta, to a to-be-determined location,” the league said in a statement today. “The decision comes a little more than a week after the passage of S.B. 202, a Georgia law that President Joe Biden criticized earlier this week, saying that it will restrict voting access for residents of the state.”

“Major League Baseball fundamentally supports voting rights for all Americans and opposes restrictions to the ballot box,” Commissioner Robert Manfred said. “In 2020, MLB became the first professional sports league to join the non-partisan Civic Alliance to help build a future in which everyone participates in shaping the United States. We proudly used our platform to encourage baseball fans and communities throughout our country to perform their civic duty and actively participate in the voting process. Fair access to voting continues to have our game’s unwavering support.”

Major League Baseball has not announced where the game will take place.
