Man and woman shot inside car in Northwest D.C.

WASHINGTON, DC — Police are investigating a double shooting Monday night in Northwest DC that left a man and a woman injured. The victims were found inside a car near the intersection of Georgia Avenue and Ingraham Street NW.

The shooting occurred shortly before 8:30 p.m. in the 5300 block of Colorado Avenue NW. According to investigators, the victims fled the scene of the shooting before being discovered in the vehicle.

Both individuals sustained gunshot wounds and were transported to nearby hospitals for treatment. Authorities report that both victims are currently conscious.

Police closed Georgia Avenue near Ingraham Street as they processed the scene and worked to determine the circumstances leading to the shooting.
