Man arrested after crashing into cars, assaulting staff at Chesapeake preschool

CHESAPEAKE, Va. – A man was taken into custody Thursday afternoon after crashing into two vehicles and assaulting staff members at a preschool, police said.

Chesapeake police responded to a preschool in the 200 block of Hillcrest Parkway at approximately 12:44 p.m. after reports of a disorderly man inside the building. While driving through parking lots before entering the school, the suspect struck two vehicles, authorities said.

Once inside, the man assaulted two staff members. No children were harmed during the incident.

Officers arrived and took the suspect into custody before transporting him to a hospital for evaluation. Police said the investigation is ongoing and that criminal charges are pending.
