Man attacked and robbed in broad daylight in Crown Heights

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A 65-year-old man was assaulted and robbed in the Crown Heights section of Brooklyn on Tuesday afternoon, according to the NYPD.

Police said the incident occurred around 2:10 p.m. in front of 173 Buffalo Ave. when an unidentified individual approached the man, pushed him to the ground, and began punching and kicking him.

The assailant then forcibly took the victim’s cellphone and $50 before fleeing the scene on foot toward an unknown direction.

The victim suffered a cut to his mouth, a lung injury, and swelling and pain throughout his body. He was transported by EMS to Interfaith Medical Center for treatment.

Authorities described the suspect as a male with a dark complexion, last seen wearing a white shirt, black shorts, and black sneakers.

No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains ongoing.

Police are seeking the public’s help in identifying the suspect involved in the violent robbery.
