Man Attacked by Ex-Girlfriend, Middle School Good Samaritan Attacked

November 15, 2024

STAFFORD COUNTY, VA — Deputies responded to two separate assault incidents this week, including one involving a domestic dispute and another at a local middle school.

The first incident occurred early Monday morning on Catherine Lane. At 5:46 a.m., Deputy M.N. Sayegh responded to a report of an assault. According to the caller, her boyfriend was attacked by his ex-girlfriend during a dispute over a cellphone. Authorities located the ex-girlfriend and served her with a warrant for assault and battery.

The second incident took place Tuesday morning at A.G. Wright Middle School on Wood Drive. Deputy S.C. Hall, acting in her role as the school resource officer, was informed of an altercation at approximately 10:30 a.m. Investigators determined that two students, who had been arguing and were on the verge of fighting, turned their attention to a third student who attempted to intervene and de-escalate the situation.

The two students assaulted the third student, prompting criminal complaints for assault and battery to be filed against them.

Both cases remain under investigation as law enforcement officials work to resolve the incidents.
