Man attacked with baseball bat during morning dispute in the Bronx

BRONX, N.Y. – Police are searching for a man who struck another man several times in the face with a baseball bat during a violent altercation on East Tremont Avenue last week.

According to the NYPD, the assault occurred around 9:30 a.m. on Wednesday, January 7, in front of 2430 East Tremont Avenue. Investigators said the 29-year-old victim got into a verbal dispute with an unidentified man that quickly escalated into a physical confrontation. During the fight, the suspect struck the victim multiple times in the face with a baseball bat, causing a laceration.

Emergency medical personnel responded and transported the victim to NYC Health + Hospitals/Jacobi, where he was listed in stable condition.

Police described the suspect as a male last seen wearing a green sweatshirt, a white shirt, red pants, and black and white sneakers. He fled the scene on foot in an unknown direction.
