Man barricades himself in apartment after alleged firearm threat in Northeast Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA — Police responded to a barricade situation early Saturday morning after a woman reported being threatened with a firearm inside a Northeast Philadelphia apartment. The incident occurred on the 5000 block of Griscom Street.

Authorities received a 911 call at approximately 12:52 a.m. regarding the threat, leading officers to the scene. When they arrived, the male suspect barricaded himself inside the rear apartment, according to police.

A barricade declaration was made at 1:02 a.m., and SWAT was called to the location. The standoff ended at 3:49 a.m. when the male suspect was safely apprehended without further incident.

No injuries were reported. Northeast Detectives are continuing their investigation into the situation.
