Man charged for eluding police at 95 mph on motorcycle

JACKSON TOWNSHIP, NJ – On Wednesday September 16, 2020 at approximately 10:20 pm, Police Officers Eric Fricks and Andrew Lopez were attempting to conduct a motor vehicle stop with a 2020 Yamaha motorcycle which had been observed travelling at 95 miles per hour in a 40 mph speed zone on West County Line Road.

Officer Lopez had closed the distance to the motorcycle as it turned from North County Line Road onto Harmony Road and activated his patrol unit’s emergency lights to effect the motor vehicle stop. The motorcycle slowed down and appeared that it was pulling to the side of the road as the officer observed the driver turn and look at his patrol unit. It then accelerated to a high rate of speed, passing another vehicle on a double yellow no passing zone as the officer followed with his vehicle’s emergency lights and siren activated. It was at this time the shift supervisor ordered that the pursuit be terminated.

As the pursuit was terminated, the officers observed the motorcycle go through the 4 way stop at Harmony and Hyson Road and nearly lose control of the bike before coming to a stop. The officers then made contact with the driver and placed him under arrest and impounded the motorcycle.

Arrested:

Paul Zebrowski, age 21 of Jackson. He was processed and charged with eluding and was also issued multiple traffic summonses before being released pending a court appearance.
