Man arrested in deadly Landover shooting after argument turns fatal

Landover, MD – A 43-year-old man has been arrested and charged with murder after a woman was shot and killed in Landover earlier this month following an argument that turned deadly.

John Michael Brand, of White Plains, MD, is accused of fatally shooting 60-year-old Constance Miller in the 3100 block of 75th Avenue around 11:35 p.m. on January 8. When Prince George’s County officers arrived, they found Miller suffering from a gunshot wound outside. She was rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition and died from her injuries on January 16.

Detectives with the Prince George’s County Police Department’s Homicide Unit believe the shooting stemmed from a dispute between Brand and Miller, who were known to each other. The exact nature of their relationship has not been released.
