PHILADELPHIA, PA — A 27-year-old man is fighting for his life after being shot multiple times late Tuesday night in the Juniata section of Philadelphia, authorities said.
Officers from the 24th District responded to the 3900 block of M Street at approximately 11:10 p.m. on April 23 after reports of gunfire and a person down. On arrival, officers found the victim unresponsive in the street with gunshot wounds to the back, abdomen, and head. He was transported by medics to Temple University Hospital, where he remains in critical condition.

Victim pursued and gunned down in the street
According to preliminary investigations, the victim was being chased on foot by an unknown male with a handgun. As he attempted to hide between parked cars, the gunman opened fire, striking him several times. Witnesses say the suspect then approached the downed victim and fired again before fleeing toward a nearby grocery store.
No motive has been established, and investigators have not released the victim’s identity.
Police search for suspect in dark clothing
The suspect is described as a male, race unknown, approximately 5’6″ to 5’8″ tall, wearing all black clothing and possibly white socks or white sneakers. He was last seen carrying a black backpack.
