Man shot in foot in early-morning alley incident walks into hospital hours later
BALTIMORE, MD – A 55-year-old man who claimed he was shot in the foot during the early hours of Monday morning walked into a hospital nearly 16 hours later, prompting an investigation by Northwest District Shooting detectives.
Officers responded to the hospital at approximately 5:53 p.m. on January 12 after the man arrived seeking treatment for a gunshot wound. The victim told police he had been in the alley of the 4700 block of Litchfield Avenue around 1:30 a.m. when he heard gunfire and suddenly felt pain in his foot. He did not call police at the time and instead went home, later transporting himself to the hospital.
The man is currently in stable condition, according to police. Detectives from the Northwest District Shooting unit responded to the location where the incident reportedly occurred and have taken over the investigation.
No suspects have been identified, and a motive remains unclear.
