MANHATTAN, N.Y. — A 54-year-old man died Thursday night after suffering a medical emergency in Riverside Park, prompting an investigation by the NYPD’s Force Investigation Division.

Police responded around 10:05 p.m. to a call for assistance at West 137th Street and Riverside Drive in the 30th Precinct, where the man was reported to be having difficulty breathing.

Emergency Medical Services arrived at the scene and transported the man to Mount Sinai Morningside. He was later pronounced dead by hospital staff, authorities said.
