Man Fatally Shot in Bed-Stuy, Police Investigating

NEW YORK, N.Y. — A 54-year-old man was fatally shot Wednesday afternoon in Brooklyn’s Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood, according to the New York City Police Department.

Officers responded to a 911 call reporting an assault in progress at 751 Monroe Street at approximately 3:40 p.m. Upon arrival, they found the victim with a gunshot wound to the chest.

Emergency medical services transported the man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Kings County, where he was pronounced dead.

The NYPD has not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting. The investigation is ongoing, and authorities have withheld the victim’s identity pending family notification.

“We are working diligently to gather information on this incident,” the NYPD stated.
