Man fatally shot in McKeesport home; homicide investigation underway

MCKEESPORT, PA — A man was shot and killed inside a McKeesport residence Saturday night, prompting an active homicide investigation by Allegheny County Police.

County 9-1-1 received a report of the shooting at approximately 9:59 p.m. on March 29 in the 1700 block of Abraham Street. Responding officers and medics found an adult male suffering from gunshot wounds inside the home.

The victim was transported to a nearby hospital, where he was pronounced dead shortly after arrival, police said.

The Allegheny County Police Department’s Homicide Unit was called in to lead the investigation. No information about the victim’s identity or possible suspects has been released.

Detectives have not shared a motive, and no arrests have been reported as of Sunday.

“Detectives are initiating the investigation,” police confirmed in a statement posted on social media.
