Man fatally shot inside Rockaway Avenue subway station in Brooklyn

BROOKLYN, N.Y. — A man was fatally shot inside the Rockaway Avenue subway station in Brooklyn late Wednesday, according to police. Officers responded to a 911 call at approximately 11:14 p.m., finding the victim with a gunshot wound to the head.

The incident occurred within the confines of the 73rd Precinct and Transit District 33. Emergency Medical Services transported the man to Brookdale University Hospital and Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.

Authorities identified the victim as 47-year-old Freddie Weston of Sterling Place, Brooklyn. No arrests have been made in connection to the shooting, and the investigation is ongoing.

The circumstances leading to the shooting remain unclear, and police have not released information on potential suspects.
