Man Fatally Stabbed in the Bronx, Person of Interest in Custody

BRONX, NY — A 32-year-old man was fatally stabbed Sunday night inside a Bronx apartment building, authorities said.

Police responded to a 911 call around 10:42 p.m. at 494 East 138th Street in the Mott Haven neighborhood. Officers arrived to find the victim with a stab wound to the chest.

Emergency medical personnel transported the man to NYC Health and Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was pronounced dead.

A person of interest has been taken into custody, though no charges have been filed as the investigation continues.

The victim’s identity is being withheld pending family notification.
