Man found dead after violent attack at Jay Street subway station

BROOKLYN, N.Y. – A man was discovered unconscious and bleeding inside the Jay Street subway station Tuesday afternoon, triggering a homicide investigation that has rattled downtown commuters.

The unidentified victim was found around 3:07 p.m., suffering from severe trauma to his body.

He was rushed to NewYork-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital in critical condition but was later pronounced dead.

According to authorities, the man’s identity is being withheld pending notification of his family. No arrests have been made, and the investigation remains active under the 84th Precinct and Transit District 30.

Police have not yet released details on what led to the attack or whether it was captured on surveillance footage.

No further information was immediately available Tuesday evening.
