Man found dead in Long Run Creek after being reported missing in McKeesport

McKEESPORT, Pa. — A man reported missing Tuesday evening was found dead hours later in Long Run Creek, prompting an active homicide investigation by Allegheny County authorities.

According to Allegheny County Police, the Homicide Unit responded to assist local law enforcement after Versailles Borough police received a missing person report for an adult male at 7:15 p.m.

Police from both Versailles Borough and McKeesport began searching the area following the report. During their search, the man’s body was discovered in the water near the 400 block of Long Run Road in McKeesport.

Allegheny County homicide detectives arrived at the scene shortly after the discovery to initiate an investigation. Officials have not yet released the identity of the deceased or details surrounding the cause of death.

“The victim was located in Long Run Creek near the 400 block of Long Run Road,” authorities confirmed in a statement Tuesday night.
