Man found shot dead in South Baltimore parking lot as homicide probe begins

Baltimore, MD – A man was found fatally shot early Sunday morning in a parking lot off East Cross Street, sparking a homicide investigation in the city’s Southern District.

Just before 2 a.m., Southern District officers responded to the 100 block of East Cross Street after receiving a report of an unresponsive individual lying on the ground. When officers arrived, they found a man with a gunshot wound to the upper body. Medics pronounced the victim dead at the scene.

The victim has not yet been identified, and no suspect information has been released. Detectives from the Homicide Unit took over the investigation shortly after officers secured the scene.
