Man Found Shot To Death In D.C.

Washington, D.C. – A fatal shooting in Southeast, D.C., is currently under investigation by the D.C. Metro Police Department’s Homicide Branch. The incident, resulting in the death of a Northeast D.C. man, has sparked an appeal for witnesses to come forward.

Just after 3 p.m. on Friday afternoon, officers were called to the 2900 block of Gainesville Street, Southeast, after reports of gunfire were received. An adult male victim was discovered in the 2800 block of Hartford Street, Southeast, showing no signs of life. Despite the prompt response of DC Fire and EMS, the victim was declared deceased at the scene.

The victim has been identified as 29-year-old Dimitrious Tre’von Brown of Northeast, D.C. Authorities are urging anyone with information about this tragic event to contact the police at 202-727-9099 or to use the department’s TEXT TIP LINE by texting a message to 50411, in hopes of advancing the investigation.
