Man found shot to death inside car on North 17th Street in Philadelphia

PHILADELPHIA, PA – A 39-year-old Abington man was found fatally shot inside a parked car in North Philadelphia Monday night, police said. Officers from the 39th District responded to reports of a person with a gun around 8 p.m. in the 3600 block of North 17th Street and discovered the victim unresponsive in a 2008 silver Nissan Maxima.

The victim, identified as Dion Travis Abraham, was suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to the chest and legs. He was transported by police to Temple University Hospital, where he was pronounced dead at 8:25 p.m.

Investigators said no arrests have been made and no motive has been determined. The Philadelphia Police Department’s Homicide Unit is handling the case and is urging anyone with information to contact detectives at 215-686-3334 or submit an anonymous tip.
