A 45-year-old man was shot dead outside his Brooklyn apartment in a targeted Friday night attack still under investigation.

BROOKLYN, NY — A 45-year-old man was shot and killed steps from his home Friday night in Brooklyn’s Brighton Beach neighborhood, police said.

Fatal shooting in 60th Precinct

Police responded to a 911 call of a shooting around 9:55 p.m. near 2954 Brighton 12 Street. Officers from the 60th Precinct arrived to find Elijah Scott suffering from multiple gunshot wounds to his body. The scene was located directly across from Scott’s listed residence.

Emergency medical services transported Scott to NYU Langone Hospital-Brooklyn, where he was later pronounced dead. The number of gunshot wounds and the weapon used have not yet been disclosed.

Investigation underway

No suspects have been arrested in connection with the shooting. Detectives are continuing to investigate the circumstances surrounding the incident and are working to determine a possible motive.
