NOTTINGHAM, Md. — A Baltimore County grand jury has indicted a 26-year-old man on a first-degree murder charge in the 2024 shooting death of 27-year-old Shakeia Allen outside her Nottingham apartment building.
Amir Johnson is also charged with use of a firearm during a felony or crime of violence, according to court records and Baltimore County police.
Allen was shot April 21, 2024, in the parking lot of the ReNew Apartment Complex, where she had reportedly moved just days earlier. Police said the shooting was recorded by an onlooker.
Surveillance video showed Johnson chasing Allen through the parking lot before she was shot multiple times at close range.
Johnson and Allen had previously been in a relationship, and court records showed a history of reported domestic disputes. Both filed protective orders against each other in August 2023, though neither appeared in court and the cases were dropped. Johnson was later charged with assault following an alleged altercation in February 2024.
