Deadly confrontation inside apartment

According to police, officers from the 42nd Precinct responded to a 911 call reporting a stabbing at 341 East 162nd Street at approximately 11:25 p.m. When they arrived, they found a 48-year-old man with a stab wound to the neck and a 39-year-old man suffering from multiple lacerations to his arm.

One victim pronounced dead at scene

Emergency Medical Services declared the 48-year-old victim deceased at the scene. The second man was transported to NYC Health + Hospitals/Lincoln, where he was listed in stable condition. Authorities did not immediately release the names of either victim pending family notification.

Suspect held as investigation unfolds

A person of interest was taken into custody at the location shortly after the incident. Police have not yet confirmed whether charges have been filed.
