Man shot and killed during domestic dispute in Philadelphia early Friday morning

PHILADELPHIA, Pa. – A 35-year-old man was shot and killed early Friday during what police describe as a domestic disturbance in the city’s 12th District. Officers were called to the 5600 block of Ridgewood Street around 3:18 a.m. after receiving a report of a person with a gun. When they arrived, they found the victim, identified as Dontae White, suffering from a gunshot wound to the head.

Medics pronounced White dead at the scene at 3:33 a.m. According to investigators, the shooting occurred during an argument involving White and his 24-year-old nephew. The nephew was taken into custody at the scene and transported to the Homicide Unit for questioning.

Police have not announced any formal charges, and the investigation remains active as detectives continue to gather evidence and interview witnesses.

Authorities said additional details, including possible charges, will be released once the investigation is complete.
