Man shot and killed while driving on New Jersey highway

MOUNT LAUREL, NJ — Authorities are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred early Saturday morning in Mount Laurel and are calling on the public for help identifying the shooter.

The Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office said a man was found bleeding from multiple gunshot wounds around 2:30 a.m. in the 1000 block of Atrium Way. He was transported to Cooper University Hospital in Camden, where he was pronounced dead at approximately 4:15 a.m.

Investigators believe the man had been shot moments earlier while driving northbound on Route 73 in his 2014 silver Mercedes-Benz E350 sedan.

His name is being withheld pending family notification. An autopsy will be conducted by the Burlington County Medical Examiner’s Office to determine the exact cause and manner of death.

No arrests have been made, and the weapon used in the shooting has not been recovered. Law enforcement officials have not identified any suspects or released possible motives.

“The investigation began after the victim was discovered bleeding in the 1000 block of Atrium Way,” the Prosecutor’s Office stated.

The case remains under investigation by the Burlington County Prosecutor’s Office and Mount Laurel Township Police Department. Authorities are urging anyone with information to come forward.
