Man Shot in West Philadelphia; Police Investigating

PHILADELPHIA — A 29-year-old man was shot in the 18th District near 56th and Walnut Streets on Thursday afternoon, according to the Philadelphia Police Department. The incident occurred at approximately 1:14 p.m. while the man was on the highway in the area.

The victim, identified as a Black male, was struck once in the lower left side of his back by an unknown assailant. Police officers on the scene transported him to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was reported to be in stable condition.

Authorities have not yet made any arrests in connection with the shooting, and no weapon has been recovered. The scene remains under investigation, with police continuing to search for leads.
