Man Shot Multiple Times Dead in Glen Burnie

Glen Burnie, MD – On Thursday at approximately 8:20 p.m., police in Glen Burnie responded to a shooting near East Furnace Branch Road and Margate Drive. Upon arrival, they found Scott David Guhse, 51, of Glen Burnie, deceased from apparent gunshot wounds. A 22-year-old man was also found at the scene, claiming to be a victim of assault and the shooter.

The Anne Arundel County Police Homicide Unit is leading the investigation. Detectives and evidence collectors gather information and evidence. Initial findings suggest the young man was on a motorcycle when a vehicle drove erratically behind him. The vehicle driver allegedly approached the motorcyclist with a hammer, prompting the 22-year-old to use a handgun in self-defense.

The 22-year-old holds a Maryland concealed handgun carry permit. The police are actively investigating the case. They seek information from the public and encourage anonymous tips via the Anne Arundel County Police Tip Line or Crime Stoppers.

Police urge those with information to contact them at 410-222-4731. To remain anonymous, tips can be submitted at 410-222-4700 or
