Man Shot Multiple Times Near Nationals Park, One Suspect Arrested

Washington, D.C. – An arrest has been made in connection with a shooting in the Navy Yard area, according to the D.C. Metro Police Department.

On Saturday at approximately 9:18 p.m., police responded to a report of a shooting in the 1200 block of Half Street in Southeast. Officers located an adult male with non-life-threatening gunshot wounds. He was conscious and transported to a local hospital for treatment.

The investigation revealed that the shooting victim and a second suspect exchanged gunfire. Police arrested 29-year-old Deon Elonte Bookhardt of Southeast and charged him with assault with a dangerous weapon and destruction of property.
