Man slashed in the face with sword after argument in Bronx store, police say

BRONX, N.Y. – A 35-year-old man was slashed in the face with a sword after a heated argument inside a Bronx store Friday afternoon, police said.

The confrontation unfolded around 3:55 p.m. inside a commercial establishment at 230 East 174th Street. According to investigators, the dispute began as a verbal altercation between the victim and an unidentified man. After the 35-year-old left the store, the suspect chased him outside and attacked, striking him in the face with a sword before fleeing westbound on East 174th Street.

Emergency medical personnel took the victim to Saint Barnabas Hospital, where he was listed in stable condition.

The suspect is described as a male with a medium complexion, last seen wearing a dark blue jacket, black hooded sweatshirt, black pants, white sneakers, and a ski mask.

Police are continuing to search for the assailant, who fled on foot after the violent attack.
