Man stabbed at 24-hour market in West Philadelphia; suspect in custody

PHILADELPHIA — A man was stabbed early Saturday morning at a 24-hour store in West Philadelphia, police said.

Officers responded to the 5200 block of Market Street in the 19th District at 4:09 a.m., where they found a 30-year-old man with a laceration to his right hand.

Police transported the victim to Penn-Presbyterian Medical Center, where he was listed in stable condition.

Authorities said the scene was secured, a person of interest was taken into custody, and a weapon was recovered.
